In 1947, Sequoia Nursery School (SNS) was founded as one of the first local nonprofit, parent-run cooperative preschool.

SNS contributed to the construction of the historical Sequoia Lodge and still operates there today.

SNS is a community of ~30 families (plus thousands of alumni families), a director, and a teacher, working together to create an ideal, play-based environment for children to grow emotionally, physically, socially, and intellectually.
